Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church was slated for destruction – but its congregation rallied! This beautiful church may yet be saved. The 2016 Italian Festival was a celebration of the wonderful Italian culture. On Sunday morning, August 21st, the mass was held in a large white tent, set up next to the church, and then a procession ensued down Shrewsbury Street!
Here are my photos of the event as well as the Knights of Columbus and the Al Youngman brass band which marched with the congregation.
